Willpower

The word is foreign to me when it comes to buying fabrics.

It’s impossible to not buy the entire line…the other fabrics would feel left out.

The fabric line is called Sugar Flowers. A yummy name for a yummy print!

And that’s not all.

I bought these guys online from Hawthorne Threads. I should receive them tomorrow, but thought it rude to keep them from you…

Every now and then you need a hit of fabric (words from a true fabricholic).

It never hurts to show your fabric stash some love! So go on, go all out and get inspired to start a new project! I have several lined up. So much fabric but oh so little time!

Hideaway…!

I’ve mentioned several times that i’m a fabric junky, so I was totally stoked when i stumbled across the L&J blog! This is a blog by Lauren and Jessi Jung, fabric designers who are coming out with a new line called “Hideaway” for Moda. I can’t wait to make something out of this fabric, but I’ll have to sit tight for now as the line doesn’t come out until December I believe. Their blog (screen shot below) talks a little about the making of the fabric designs/re-designs, it’s pretty interesting.

On a different note, I received my next batch of Moda fabrics for my next tutorial! 🙂 This line is called “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Fig Tree Quilts and should be available in stores Sept. 10.
This will be a quick and simple tutorial which uses layer cakes and charm squares, shown in the pic. above. Stay tuned for tutorial updates. 🙂

Fabric Hoarder, that’s me!

I’m a sick puppy. I went to two local quilting shops last weekend and added to my fabric stash… I took about 10 different shots of this photo from varying angles… what can i say, i’m a fabric junky!

On a different note, I finally finished quilting my Moda quilt… the tutorial will be posted on Monday. For the quilting design, I went with loopy-loops. Not sure if you can see the quilting too well below, but you can click the pictures to enlarge.

You can NEVER have too much fabric!

My stash of Moda charm packs (pre-cut 5″ squares) is getting out of hand and i love it! I’m in hoarding-mode with these, and seriously need to think of something to make. Don’t you just wanna take a bite out of one of the jelly rolls below..??.. Or baste in a sea of charm packs ..muahahahaahaa..>:-D …eh hem..

Moda is already coming out with their holiday themed charm packs. I bought a couple a few weeks ago and made some patchwork fabric cards with them (below) – i know it’s still Summer time (and of course now the weather is supposed to be in the 90’s this week), but with last week’s gloomy typical Seattle weather, it seemed fit!

Some other projects I’ve been working on: last night i finally quilted my cousin Paola’s T-block baby quilt. After I bind it, I will post the finished quilt. I also made a new quilt top using Moda’s Layer Cakes (10″ pre-cut squares). I plan to quilt that today, and will have the tutorial up soon. I’m also finsihing up a heart-themed table runner I made using charm packs. My next tutorial which I’ve already typed up (just need to post it!) will be on baby bibs. 🙂
