Happy Valentines!

Thank you all for your kind words on my last post regarding Paige. <3 It truly meant a lot and I read all of your comments.

I thought this would be a nice follow up post with lots of hearts and happy pictures. I thought of Paige when I made this mini quilt, missing her quiet company. But my heart felt full of love for the companionship and wonderful memories she’s given me.

If you love this mini quilt, you’ll be happy to know that it’s a free pattern on my blog 🙂 This is my Sweethearts Mini Quilt which you can find HERE. And it comes together super quick if you want to try to finish it before Valentines Day. I got it done in a weekends time.

The mini quilt and hearts, and actually pretty much everything in this post was made using my 3rd fabric collection called Woodland Rose, available in stores now! If you can’t find it at your LQS, be sure to search online. I know that Shabby Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop has some.

These little heart ornaments were addicting to make. I made them all one night right after finishing my mini. They would be perfect as lavender sachets but I didn’t have any on hand.

Per the usual we’ve been keeping busy. My eldest son celebrated his 7th birthday! We let him invite 5 of his friends over for a sleepover party. A total of SEVEN boys including Ethan and Simon. Yes, we survived and it was a hit (and I’m still recovering, lol)! x-)

Below is Simon putting the decorations back up after storing them away for safekeeping during the sleepover party ;-p

Ethan made his very first quilt which we finished just in time for his birthday! I will share it on my next post – I think you’ll be as impressed as I am!

Anyhoodles, here’s out little Valentines vignette…ta dahhh 🙂 Simple and sweet.

What else have we been up to…oh yes! I submitted my 5th fabric collection to Lecien Fabrics including my first ever Christmas collection!

For the V-day mini quilt and hearts, I used the champagne pinks and reds from my Woodland Rose collection to make the mini quilt.

Oh, and here’s a lovely Valentines day site for you all. 🙂 These are 100+ year old Victorian era Valentines day cards, some with handwritten notes still in them. Can’t get more romantic than that 😉

Also sharing these picture-perfect pin cushions that my instagram friend Lisa (@lschweitzer on IG) made for me. Is it just me or do they remind you of beignets and you just wanna sink your teeth into one? x-)

Lisa is the cathedral windows queen!

Anyway, happy Valentines Day from my family to yours! We’ve had several snow days here in Seattle with school canceled. Made for some excellent quilt snuggle time with my little peanuts. 🙂 This quilt below was made using my very first fabric collection called High Tea. The free pattern can be found HERE.

Also, have you picked up any Woodland Rose fabrics yet? 🙂

xoxo,

Jera

p.s. i’m sew thankful for you all! Happy love day!

I always enjoy your posts and beautiful photos. Your Valentines mini is lovely, and the filigree frame you used to display it is perfect. Looking forward to seeing your new fabric line…all your collections have your distinctive and delicate style, yet each offers a fresh approach.

Jera, your quilt and the little hearts are so sweet.
I love reading your posts. I have been keeping you in my prayers. I know the loss of our little innocent babies is difficult and does take time. Your boys are just beautiful

I sent you an email after reading about your sweet quilting buddy Paige passing on. I received it back unable to be received by you. Just to let you know you are in my thoughts, I know how much you must miss Paige, as I’m sure your beautiful boys do too. About a year ago, my daughter’s dog Oscar died.
I was in the process of making a quilt for my granddaughter at the time, so I included a block in the
back of the quilt with his name on it since she loved him so much also.
