Oldies and Newbies

A lot of my quilts are on display at the studio, so I can’t help but get a little nostalgia looking back when I first made them. I thought I’d do a post on some old and new quilts. Let’s start with an oldie. 🙂 I made this one three years ago when I first started my blog, and pre-Ethan! I did all the quilting myself when I used to have my 120″ quilting frame (and before that room became E’s nursery)!

It’s currently on display at the Stitch and Sew Studio. I used charm packs and layer cakes to assemble this quilt. If you like it, you can find a printer friendly version of my tutorial by clicking here.

Here’s another oldie that I made and posted two years ago.  Such a simple quilt, but one of my faves. Ethan was only a couple months here…I remember this is when he first started smiling and laughing. That’s when I knew I wanted to leave my day job to take care of him.

And here’s a newbie that I gave a sneak peak of in an earlier post. You can find my 4-step tutorial here.
This is the one where I treated myself and had it quilted professionally by Darlene. As always she did a fantastic job!

Another newbie! I bought the fabric years ago, but I finally made a quilt out of it from my stash.

Also had it quilted by Darlene.
Here is a newbie and an oldie on display at the studio.  They make a good pair!
Anyway, that’s it for now other than it’s been sunny here in Seattle. There’s been slews of people emerging from their ‘caves’ to enjoy the sun…me being one of them. Too funny.
Finally, this is me attempting an artsy fartsy ‘postcard’ pic of Seattle. 🙂 It’s of the Great Wheel on the waterfront with the ferry in the background. I took it from Pike Place Market last weekend. A beautiful afternoon in sunny Seattle.
Happy Quilting!

Love the quilts! So bright and cheery!

Sunny, but we had one heck of a hailstorm here in Bothell this afternoon. And it thundered — scared the bujeebus out of me.

Love your quilts. I have made the Heart one twice! Once for me and once for my neighbour who had cancer. Linda

They all look great, especially in person! It was so nice meeting you Saturday, thanks for all your help with the machines and the instruction. I finished my quilting Saturday around 230. By Sunday I had finished the binding and it turned out great. I did the blind hem stitch on the back like you showed us and I'm going to used the same method to add my handmade label. See you again soon ~Seana
