Snowmageddon

[Above: Bodie and Paige watching Snowmageddon]

I’m happy to say that Seattle got some decent snow this year! Or as Seattleites have been calling it, Snowmageddon. (If you’re from the East coast, I’m sure you’re rolling your eyes.) 😉 We got a whopping 6 inches with a layer of ice in the middle. The snow was enough that my husband and I got to work-from-home last week, so the dogs were happy about that. We were all hunkered down in our cozy house.

Aside from the sudden snowmageddon that hit Seattle, it’s been an interesting week for me. First of all, I’m already 37 weeks preggo and I go on maternity leave next Friday already, so it’s been crazy busy at work! I’m finding it harder to get a good night’s rest. The other night I woke up at 2am and couldn’t fall asleep. I stayed up until 5:30am thinking up new crafting ideas.

My latest project, which I should have up soon, consists of the following supplies: cloth diapers, piping and fat quarters.
I’m lovin’ the cowboys. Sooo cute! Fabric never ceases to inspire me.
I also had the urge to make something using a Layer Cake. I probably shouldn’t line up too many projects at once, but it’s hard when I’m surrounded by beautiful textiles. Anyway, you may recall this quilt I made last year? (You can find the original post here.)
I plan on making this but using a Layer Cake from the Hello Luscious collection. You can plan on me posting a tutorial too.
I’ve been making a bunch of boy-themed crafts lately because of my little guy on the way 🙂 I just had to make something girly-girl (for me :). I love the colors in this line!

I hope you’re all having a safe and warm winter. Get some crafting in…you know that I’ll be quilting in the snow! 😉

The sun actually came out in Spokane WA today. We had about 7" at our house that is now turning to ice since it partly melted today. Love the fabric!

Minnesota has had so little snow this year! But I guess it beats last year when it snowed 20 inches in a day!

It sounds like you're in nesting mode! Certainly all that snow helps with wanting to get all cuddled in, doesn't it? Yes, notice I said ALL that snow. I'm down in Oregon and 6" is a darn decent display!

The LOML lives in Seattle and I was so jealous of the snow because we have not had any where I live in Pennsylvania since Halloween weekend. Finally – we got snow starting late Friday night. I know lots of folks out there were without power but it sounds like you were able to enjoy some sewing time at home. The "vintagy" looking cowboy fabric is adorable!

I'm with Jane S. on this one…if you are up in the night you aren't far off from the big day. :o) All the best!

My wife also is pregnant and having a terrible time sleeping. So i feel for you. Looking forward to seeing what you made with the cloth diapers. My wife and I are having a girl (I know you women turning your I at that statement it is taking a lot out of me this time around) after some of her sleepless nights I am having sleepless nights too with the wave of the bead each time she rolls. Baby is kicking and she is strong so every thing is grand. I am jealous of your snow though we only got a rainy/snowy dribble last night.

I live south of Seattle and also got about 6" but the most exciting part was when we got the ice on Thursday of last week, it cemented my garage door shut. I've lived in this house over 25 years and that was something completely new. My son came over Friday morning and we stood out there with hammers, banging on the door to chip the ice off. That was pretty weird.

Thanks for any other great post. Where else may just anyone get that type of information in such an ideal method of writing? I've a presentation next week, and I am at the look for such information.
