A day full of sewing (or sleeping…)

So, today is my first official day of maternity leave! I feel like a ticking time bomb. I’m due on February 13th, but my doctor said the baby can come as soon as tomorrow. I had grand plans to spend the entire day sewing and even made a handy little list of doable projects I could complete in a day. However, I only managed to get one project checked off my list…
I love the simplicity of this pillow and how quickly it came together. I got the whale fabric from a shop in Portland, Oregon earlier this month when my husband and I took a road trip there for a last minute baby-moon. 🙂

My planned day full of sewing was more of a day full of sleeping. I can’t believe how tired I was! I don’t know how I was working 8-10 hrs at my day job leading up to my maternity leave. I don’t regret the time I spent sleeping today as it’s good for me and the baby (and i know I’ll be needing it!), but boy am I feeling like I have so much to do before the baby arrives!

Anyway, here’s the back of the pillow. You can find it at my shop sold in a bundle, here. It’s adorable; The print are instructions on how to fold a paper hat. 🙂

Anyway, that’s it for now…time to get more rest… 🙂 Happy quilting all!

Darling pillow! I hope you have a nice collection of them around the house for after the baby arrives. I used lots of pillows for propping my arms and this gave me so much comfort and helped me to relax with my babies. Enjoy this time of expectation and rest!

Best wishes for your growing family. I can't believe it's already time – I'm sure you can't either 🙂
    Be well!

Love your pillow! Get your sleep now cause you'll need it when HE arrives! Best of luck on your new journey. Show your husband how to blog so we can get the baby news!

I know it sounds depressing, but I have to agree with the other comments — sleep now while you can! I'm going on five years now without a full night of sleep; some days I wonder if I'll ever sleep through the night again. My three girls are worth it, though, and your little one will be too. I pray that your delivery goes beautifully!

Jera, it seems like the time has flown by since you told us you were prego until now (almost due!). Get all the rest you can, because you will need it! What's nice about newborns though, is they sleep a lot (just in small spurts), so it kinda works ya into being a mom 🙂 The hardest part for me was the middle of the night. I ended up getting very good at nursing/sleeping at the same time, LOL. Love the pillow by the way! We love full size pillows on our couches – there is something about a big fluffy pillow in your lap when relaxing that is just so comfy!

Ah, so cute! Oh my goodness, how exciting to have a new baby. I am looking for a pillowcase pattern now. I hope to make some for children for the local children's hospital. Each child who is hospitalized gets to pick out their own pillow case. They distribute over 900 a month!
Get some rest, and I can't wait to see pics of your new little one!
