I started this quilt before I even knew I was having a baby boy! It makes a rather perfect boy quilt, don’t you think? I used the Hometown collection by Sweetwater for Moda. My tutorial for this quilt will be featured on Moda Bake Shop, but you will get to see it first via my blog. 🙂 I plan to post it within the next couple of weeks – it’s another one of my stack, whack and sew quilts that comes together in a jiffy and uses minimal measuring.
I’m having trouble figuring out what to name this quilt…any ideas??? Please help! This quilt will need a name for when it’s featured on Moda Bake Shop. Here are some up-close photos that might help get your creative juices flowing…
…the newspaper prints have all the names of different cities within the US and even Europe.
Maybe I have baby-brain right how, or perhaps I’m just up too late blogging…either way I can’t think of a thing! Any ideas? Please leave a comment and share!
Happy Quilting!
Homeward bound ??? or Heading home??
-from the name of the fabric and also because the triangles point inward
Sorry, I'm not very creative namewise!
Waving flag? Because the HST look like flags to me.
Hometown Crossing? It's a lovely quilt and great pattern!
Love the quilt! What about Crisscross Applesauce? Since the blocks have a crisscross effect?
"Around the world in 80 days"
except sub out '80 days' for the amount of time is estimated to work on the quilt, like "around the world in 80 hours" Or "Around the World in 3 days"
Because the pattern reminds me of a hot air ballon.
Or, name it after your son 🙂
Love the Hometown line…looking at the quilt, the first name to my mind was "Crossroads"…just because. 😉
It reminds me of Square Dancing in Middle School for some reason.. (Don't Ask Me???) So I thought of Grab your Partner.
"Tom Tom Quilt" … so your baby will always know where to go!!!
Hugs
Since the blocks are bound by the sashing, I think "Homeward Bound" could be a good name. It's a great first quilt for a baby. With all the city names, "Welcome To the World" or "Welcome Home" could work.
I like the simple name of "Around the World"
LOL! I automatically thought of "Crisscross Applesauce" too. Darling pattern!
It looks like a Hopscotch board to me! Love the pattern and fabric.
Love this design! First thing that came to my head was something about street corner in the warm friendly old neighborhood when you run in to an good friend.
Also like the hopscotch or playground idea.
congrats on the boy!!!
Super cute quilt. What about "Dance the Polka".
Dancing with My Homies?
I see an hour glass in the center of a larger hour glass, so I'd call it Hour By Hour.
How about… Pinwheel Playground!
I love that quilt. So pretty!
I also see a big and little hourglass, but if it's for your son you might call it "In the wee hours" since it sounds like you're doing that already!
What about " A BOYS LIFE " Your baby boy will start his life under this quilt, lovingly made by his mama. By the time he stops dragging it around it will have the pieces of his life in it. Congrats on the most wonderful ride of your life. Boys and their mamas have a special bond. Beautiful, beautiful quilt!
Jack in the box….just a thought.
I say TOWN CENTER- everything seems to point to the center of all that yummy Hometown fabric!!!
Slish Slash!
Polka Dots on the Horizon? I love polka dots and they catch my eye first.
X Marks the Spot
How about 'Crossing the Nines' ?
I immediately thought, "Time Passes"
A bit of a rhyme: Polka Dot Criss Cross
I love this quilt! The name that comes to me is "surprise box"
How about "Mom, I'm Home!"….since it's for your little one. 🙂 BTW, I love it and the Hometown line was perfect for it. Can't wait to see what you decide.
No place like Home 🙂
By the time he'll be grown up he'll have lots of memories linked to this quilt, so my suggestion would be 'home sweet home'
Since it is a baby quilt how about “Life’s little patches” . It so colorful and does make a perfect quilt for a perfect little boy. Congratulations.
