Project Caddy!

First of all, NO i did not make this. Thank goodness for Etsy!

I’d been using this sad little Tye-dy bag to tote around my unfinished projects back and forth from the Stitch and Sew Studio…I was so ashamed that I’d throw it under my chair when I got to the studio in hopes no one would see it.

But now I happily have my spacious and beautiful, custom-made project caddy to tote my stuff around in style. I won’t be hiding this tote under my chair 😉

I got to choose what fabrics I wanted for the bag and then it was made to order. I got it from Jeannie Bags on Etsy. Jeannie did a fantastic job! You can find them here if you like.

Man-blanky

Forget baby blue and bouncing little bunnies…it was time my son had a man-blanky! I saw this pin-up girl fabric by Alexander Henry and just had to use it.
And whaddaya know, it also sort of has a Pacific Northwest theme to it with all of the evergreens and outdoorsy images. Being from the great Northwest, it was a no-brainer that I’d end up buying it. 😉

This man-blanky is definitely baby AND daddy-approved!

Here’s an old tutorial on how to make a baby blanky…although the man-blanky’s are totally in right now.

8 months later…

Shortly after my son was born and I was couch-ridden with a newborn in my arms, I did what any fabriholic would do: spent countless hours looking at pretty fabrics on my iPhone. I ended up buying a bunch of fabric with the excuse that I’ll use it to “whip up” a rag quilt for my son. Well, that was a fail! hah!

Last Friday I decided to just get it done…with the help of my quilting buddy, Paige, of course.

Paige wouldn’t move so I just laid the pieces on top of her.

Anyway, 8 months later my now 9.5 month old son finally has his rag quilt! Woo-hoo!

I have a traditional rag quilt tutorial here if you’re interested.  For this rag quilt I didn’t use batting since the minky fabric (the blue fuzzy backing) was already pretty thick. It came out super cuddly and soft.

It feels good to get a project completed. 🙂

Four-Step Flagstone Quilt Tutorial

Hey everyone – I wanted to share with you all my latest quilt. Another super quick and simple one, ’cause that’s how I roll! My tutorial is being hosted at the Bursting the Seams blog. You can find it HERE. Enjoy!

Oh and FYI, if you like the fabric collection I used, you can find it here. It’s called Marmalade by Bonnie and Camille. Such a cheery and happy colorway.

Happy crafting!

Class this Saturday and Demo nights!

Hey everyone! If you happen to be in the neighborhood, I’ll be teaching this Quicky Quilt top class this Saturday, November 10th at 10AM. The class will be held at the new Stitch and Sew Studio space in West Seattle, so come hang out Saturday morning. The class is almost full but I believe there are a few slots left – you can register here.

Even better, I’ll be hosting a free demo night at the studio on November 14th at 5 pm on how to baste a quilt and machine quilt, followed by another free demo on November 20th at 5 pm on how to bind your quilt. I’ll be showing two different binding techniques.

Come hang out and get your craft on!
