Quilt As-You-Go Made Modern Holiday Auction

With the Holidays around the corner, I thought this was a good time to do give back to the community.  While we’re all feasting on our Thanksgiving dinners this week, let’s not forget those families that aren’t as fortunate this holiday season. That being said, I will be auctioning off this Quilt As-You-Go Made Modern Quilt (handmade with love by me!), plus a signed copy of my book! I will ship both the quilt and my book to the highest bidder, and 100% of proceeds will go towards Northwest Harvest, Washington’s statewide hunger relief program.
~This auction has ended~
How to Bid:
1. Please leave a comment to this blog post with your dollar amount, including a way for me to contact you (i.e. email)
This auction will end on Tuesday, December 2nd. At that time, I will contact the highest bidder and send a Paypal invoice to collect money. I will then ship the quilt and a signed copy of my book.

Thanks so much for participating in my quilt-for-a-cause! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday this week! Please spread the word to anyone you think may be interested.

This quilt measures 48.5″x60.5″. It makes a wonderful throw for your couch, or a wonderful Christmas gift!

Happy Bidding!

I just purchased your book and am excited to receive it. My machine is old and has a smaller throat space and it makes quilting difficult. When I happened across your blog and read about your book I knew I had to have it to give it a try!

That quilt looks lovely! Whoever won the bidding is very lucky! They get to own this beautiful piece, while making those less fortunate happy this Christmas Eve. Anyway, I hope those who didn’t make the bidding still extended their compassion through sending gifts to the program. All the best!

Above is a quilt that shows your blocks for QAYG. (it is the quilt right above the one of your son, Simon, with his cute blue quilt).Anyway, your blocks appear to be sandwiched with the top, batting, and backing included in the quilt square block. I am wondering why you put the backing on this way vs how you teach in your current book. For me, I am interested in this method as my sewing machine is needing to be cleaned of A LOT of fuzz from the batting, using the method without the backing cut and placed on the quilt block as a “sandwich”. Maybe you can clarify for me why you would do both methods? thank you!
