Cranking out the Quilts

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some quilts I’ve been cranking out over the last couple of months. I’ve been meaning to post them sooner but it’s hard finding decent lighting in gloomy-grey-Seattle. As soon as a ray of sunshine peeped out, I dropped everything for an ad hoc quilting photo shoot. It was like a race against the clouds. 😐

Here’s my “happy as a hippo” quilt. I posted a few work-in-progress pics on facebook, but here it is all finished and binded.

Can you tell that red is my favorite color? ;)We need color here in Seattle!

I made these improv log cabin pillows using them.

Also, I think I posted some pictures of of this quilt before I had assembled it, so here it is all finished.  By the way, all of these projects I used the quilt as you go technique. I’m teaching classes on it, and am loving it!

And then here’s my log cabin whale quilt which I posted a while back on facebook. I’m kicking myself for not unraveling the quilt for the photo.

Anyway, I’m glad I’m finally posting these after a week long hiatus from power quilting because I’ve been sick with a cold, and same with my son. We’ve both been mouth-breathers for the last week with our stuffy noses. This nasty bug won’t go away!

  (sniffle)

Last but not least, I took a little quilt-as-you-go ‘break’ and made these quilts last month. I treated myself and had them sent in to get quilted via  a long arm machine. 🙂 Here’s a sneak peak of the quilting done by Darlene Girton. She did an amazing job. I’ll post them in all their glory after I finish binding both and another ray of sunshine comes out.

Happy quilting everyone!

Gorgeous! I know about those gray clouds. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and abandoned the concrete sky for the southern part of our country 12 years ago! I think its still part of my blood and why I love quilting with lots of bright colors!

I love those quilts! Yes, we need color! I am glad I was able to get out and enjoy today's bit of sunshine. No siree, not taking that for granted. LOL!

Do you have a store where you sell your quilts?

Not yet, but I've been thinking of setting an online shop up eventually. Thanks for asking. 🙂

Your happy as a hippo and improv log cabin pillows are awesome! Red is my favorite color, as well, so those are totally tugging at my heart strings.

The colors on the quilt-as-you-go piece are very spring/summer lovely! I love colorful quilts like that. It's fresh and bright!

That long arm stitches look great!

I am sorry you and your son are sick. Hope you feel 100% very very soon!
